Design & Release Engineer (Roof Mechanisms Systems)

Primary Responsibilities
The selected engineer will be responsible for the design, development, validation, release, and launch of:
- Moonroof systems
- Convertible top systems
- Alternative roof systems
- Moveable backlite mechanisms
Key duties include:
- Leading roof system suppliers to meet cost, quality, timing, weight, and performance targets.
- Performing component and system design activities.
- Managing CAD reviews and releases in Teamcenter, FEDEBOM, and WERS.
- Conducting GD&T analyses, CAE reviews, tolerance stack-ups, and design validations.
- Creating and leading DFMEAs, DVP&R, SCCAF, Boundary Diagrams, and P-Diagrams.
- Supporting sourcing, prototype builds, supplier launches, and manufacturing readiness.
- Driving root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, Six Sigma, and related methodologies.
- Presenting technical reviews to management and engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience
- 2+ years of engineering experience in:

- Automotive product design
- Product development
- Mechanism design
- Launch engineering
Experience from internships and academic projects may be considered.
Technical Skills
- Product Development
- Product Design
- Mechanical Engineering fundamentals
- CAD software (CATIA, 3DX, Teamcenter preferred)
- GD&T and tolerance analysis
- Microsoft PowerPoint presentation development
- Root cause analysis methodologies
- DFMEA and engineering problem-solving techniques
