About the Company

Build an AI organization from day one. Our client, a large, publicly traded construction and building services company ($4B+ in 2026 revenue guidance), is launching a new Applied AI organization that sits between Technology and Operations. Executive sponsorship is strong, and 50+ AI initiatives are already in the pipeline.

About the Role

\n

They need a hands-on AI Engineering Manager to lead the build. This is a player-coach position. You will lead a team of engineers while staying close to the code, architecting, building, and deploying AI-enabled applications and agentic workflows that make internal operations faster and smarter.

Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Architect, build, and deploy AI applications and workflows
  • \n

  • Write production code and stay hands-on with technical delivery
  • \n

  • Lead engineers and set technical direction across AI initiatives
  • \n

  • Translate business requirements into working prototypes and solutions
  • \n

  • Integrate AI with enterprise systems, Microsoft 365, and operational platforms
  • \n

  • Partner directly with senior business leaders and executives
  • \n

  • Drive projects from scope through deployment and adoption
  • \n

  • Corporate Operations: Finance, Accounting, ERP, HR, and enterprise systems
  • \n

  • Operations: Field service, maintenance, planning/dispatch, and technician enablement
  • \n

  • Engineering & Construction: Project delivery, estimating, design, and project controls
  • \n

Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • 7+ years building software, with recent hands-on coding
  • \n

\n


\n

Required Skills

\n

    \n
  • Personally designed, built, and deployed AI applications or workflows (you'll be asked to walk through one)
  • \n

  • Strong Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, C#, Java, or similar
  • \n

  • Experience with LLM APIs, agentic AI, and AI coding assistants (Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT)
  • \n

  • Azure experience (required)
  • \n

  • Enterprise systems and integration experience
  • \n

Preferred Skills

\n

    \n
  • Construction, AEC, or field-service technology background is a plus for the relevant tracks
  • \n

Pay range and compensation package

\n

  • $160,000 – $190,000 base salary plus annual bonus
  • \n

Location

Fully remote, with approximately 10% travel. {Operations roles: candidates near the DC/Maryland/Virginia area or San Jose, CA are preferred, but all U.S. locations will be considered.}

Streamlined, with two rounds. Expect a technical conversation, including a walkthrough of an AI application you've built and deployed.
