Systems Administrator I

Position Overview
We are hiring a Systems Administrator I for a long-term contract opportunity supporting a large-scale airport technology environment. This role provides hands-on support for enterprise systems and infrastructure, handling Level 1/2 service requests while assisting senior administrators with the operation and maintenance of servers, virtualization platforms, Active Directory, cloud services, storage systems, and backup environments.
Responsibilities

Respond to Level 1/2 service requests, including user account issues, system access problems, and basic troubleshooting.

Assist with the administration of Windows and Linux servers, including updates and basic configuration tasks.

Support the monitoring and maintenance of VMware environments, virtual machines, and related resources.

Perform Active Directory administration tasks, including account creation, password resets, and group membership updates.

Assist with Azure and other cloud-based services following established procedures.

Support storage management, backup operations, and recovery processes under the guidance of senior administrators.

Execute routine maintenance activities, patching, and system health checks.

Document work performed, maintain inventory records, and ensure accurate service documentation.

Assist with system deployments, hardware installations, and lifecycle refresh activities.

Support senior administrators during upgrades, migrations, and incident response efforts.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements

1–3 years of experience supporting IT systems, servers, or enterprise applications.

Basic knowledge of Windows Server, Linux fundamentals, and virtualization concepts.

Familiarity with Active Directory, user account administration, and identity management fundamentals.

Experience providing Level 1/2 technical support and working within ticketing systems.

Ability to follow documented procedures and appropriately escalate issues when needed.

Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills.

Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Fundamentals are preferred.
