Pay Rate: $113.00 per hour
Job Description
We are hiring an FPGA Design & Verification Engineer to support advanced ASIC and FPGA development within a research and development program.
This role is best suited for an engineer who has personally written HDL code, developed testbenches, verified FPGA or ASIC designs, and supported hardware through integration and laboratory testing. The work includes digital signal processing, high-speed digital communications, embedded processors, system-on-chip platforms, and mixed-signal systems.
You will work alongside systems architects, RF and analog engineers, digital hardware designers, and other ASIC/FPGA engineers to develop and test complex, high-performance products.
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, simulate, and verify FPGA and ASIC-based digital systems
- Write, review, debug, and maintain VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog code
- Create testbenches and execute functional verification of digital and mixed-signal designs
- Develop FPGA solutions for digital signal processing and high-speed communications
- Support design integration, laboratory testing, troubleshooting, and system-level validation
- Integrate embedded processors and commercial off-the-shelf control platforms with FPGA-based systems
- Translate system requirements into FPGA design and verification requirements
- Work with RF, analog, digital, systems, software, and hardware engineering teams
- Develop scripts and automation tools that improve FPGA development, verification, and testing
- Document designs, test results, verification findings, and technical decisions
- Communicate project status, technical risks, and results to internal teams and customers
Required Qualification
To be considered, candidates should have:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent relevant education and experience may be considered
- Professional experience designing and/or verifying FPGA or ASIC systems
- Hands-on HDL programming experience with VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog
- Experience verifying digital or mixed-signal FPGA or ASIC designs
- Experience with simulation, testbench development, debugging, hardware integration, and testing
- Knowledge of digital logic design and FPGA development workflows
- Strong technical problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- The ability to work effectively across multiple engineering disciplines
Preferred Qualifications
- FPGA-based digital signal processing
- High-speed digital design, communications, or networking
- System-on-chip FPGA platforms and embedded processors
- Mixed-signal hardware or RF/analog interfaces
- Commercial off-the-shelf control-platform integration
- FPGA development or verification automation
- Scripting with Python, Tcl, Bash, or a comparable language
- ASIC or FPGA technical leadership
- Space-system or space-hardware development
- Customer-facing technical communication
- AI-assisted engineering, scripting, documentation, or verification tools
Security Clearance
Candidates who currently possess a U.S. Secret or Top Secret security clearance are strongly preferred.
Candidates without an existing clearance may also be considered, provided they are willing and able to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for the position.
