Our organization is in search of a dedicated, career-focused Network Security Engineer to become a part of our team in Chantilly, VA. This role requires onsite presence.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide Tier II and Tier III support for network security engineering, contributing to the design of sophisticated WAN, LAN, and data center solutions.

Utilize tools such as SolarWinds, Cisco Firepower FMC, and Cisco ISE to monitor and configure networks, ensuring a comprehensive and operational infrastructure while analyzing intricate network requirements.

Develop, update, and interpret detailed technical diagrams for network security, routing topologies, and robust hardware configuration standards.

Collaborate with extensive internal teams, stakeholders, and sponsor authorities to advance infrastructure initiatives and effectively manage systems engineering processes.

Engage in all stages of the ITIL Service Lifecycle, including the submission of Change Requests and the upkeep of security event monitoring policies.

Assess existing network security frameworks, catalog complex routing paths, and propose enhancements to improve performance and throughput.

Conduct comprehensive functional analyses, specify requirements, estimate costs, and release engineering packages for customer production IT environments.
Essential Qualifications:
-
A High School Diploma or GED, accompanied by over 7 years of progressively responsible experience in Network Security Engineering, Network Analysis, or a related technical field.

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or an equivalent routing/switching technical certification, such as Juniper Networks Certified Associate – Junos (JNCIA-Junos).

DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification, for example, Security+.

Certification in DoD 8570.1 / DoD 8140.01 (IAT III Level) is required within 6 months of employment, such as SecurityX.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.

Experience with SolarWinds and a strong understanding of Microsoft Windows Systems, HP SANs, and VMware products.

Advanced skills in managing VPNs, GRE tunnels, routing protocols (BGP E/I, OSPF), VLANs, VRFs, and configuring KGs.

Solid knowledge of Cisco ACI, best practices for data center fabric, Ansible, and Desired State Configuration (DSC).

Familiarity with Cisco Secure Firewall (Firepower FMC).

Practical understanding of BICSI standards, fiber and Cat 5 cabling termination, and familiarity with NSTISSAM TEMPEST/2-95 and CNSSAM TEMPEST/01-13 guidelines.
Clearance Requirements:

A current and active TS/SCI clearance is mandatory.
Physical Requirements:

The individual in this role must be capable of remaining stationary for 50% of the time. Occasional movement within the office is necessary to access file cabinets, office equipment, or to interact with colleagues, management, and clients through email, phone, or virtual communication, which may include delivering presentations.
