We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Expert to lead the protection of our IT and OT environments against evolving cyber threats. This role is responsible for developing and enforcing security policies, conducting risk assessments, managing incident response, and ensuring regulatory compliance—especially in alignment with the Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA). The ideal candidate will have strong experience with SIEM tools, threat intelligence, and cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST and ISO 27001. This position also plays a key role in collaboration with internal teams and external regulatory bodies to maintain a resilient and secure infrastructure.
Job Description
- Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and mitigate potential threats.
- Lead incident response and recovery efforts, including forensic analysis and root cause determination.
- Monitor security events and logs using SIEM tools and respond to alerts in a timely and effective manner.
- Collaborate with IT, OT, and compliance teams to ensure alignment with security architecture and business continuity plans.
- Maintain knowledge of evolving threats, trends, and applicable legislation, especially those relevant to critical infrastructure.
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to employees and contractors.
- Support audits and compliance initiatives, including preparation and response to MTSA and other regulatory inspections.
QUALIFICATIONs REQUIRED: MINIMUM COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR PRIOR TRAINING
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. CISSP, CISM, CEH, GIAC, or similar industry-recognized certifications are preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles.
- Strong understanding of network security, endpoint protection, firewalls, identity and access management, and cloud security.
- Experience with incident response, SIEM platforms, and threat intelligence tools.
- Familiarity with NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, and risk management methodologies.
- Knowledge of the Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA), the U.S. Coast Guard’s role, and Facility Security Plans (FSP), Cybersecurity Plans, and Cyber Incident Response Plans is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
