Integration & Test Engineer – Satellite Systems (SEIT)
What they do
The Integration & Test Engineer will own satellites through the entire test campaign. They integrate hardware and software, build and automate test environments, troubleshoot issues in real time, and shepherd satellites from lab testing through environmental and customer-facing tests.
Core responsibilities
- Integrate and test satellites in hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks (Python, Linux-based)
- Debug software, hardware, and system-level issues during live testing
- Support RF, GNC, and subsystem-level testing (experience dependent)
- Plan and execute environmental testing (thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC, etc.)
- Travel with satellites between test venues and own test readiness and reporting
- Produce clear test reports, status updates, and anomaly documentation
Ideal background
- Strong satellite-level integration and test experience
- Linux fluency and Python scripting are must-haves
- 75% software/automation, 25% hands-on hardware and test equipment
- RF and GNC experience are strong pluses
- Comfortable operating independently and owning a vehicle end-to-end
