Snapshot / Role Overview

We're seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Alameda to help lead major commercial mechanical projects from procurement through closeout.

Impact

• Keep large HVAC, plumbing, piping, boiler, and chiller installations on schedule and on budget.
• Reduce rework through tight coordination with field teams, detailers, and vendors.
• Support submittal, RFI, and change order processes that protect margin.

Responsibilities

• Manage submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders.
• Verify design intent and constructability with detailing and engineering.
• Request and compare quotes for equipment, materials, and subcontractor scopes.
• Track schedules in Microsoft Project and keep cost, submittal, and RFI logs current.
• Walk sites to confirm installation matches approved drawings.
• Support contracts, estimates, and cost coding.
• Attend preconstruction, QA/QC, and commissioning meetings.
• Maintain documentation in Procore and Bluebeam.

Must-Haves

• Mid-level experience in commercial mechanical construction, ideally HVAC, plumbing, or piping.
• Working knowledge of Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and specifications.

Nice-to-Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering.
• Field or detailing background.
