SSI is seeking candidates interested in supporting a new DLA contract opportunity beginning in the August/September 2025 timeframe following the award of a new multi-year contract.
Job Description:
- Performs engineering work concerned with the analysis, planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading of Storage Area Network (SAN) systems at an Enterprise level
- Performs various tests and documents results
- Administers and maintains Enterprise SAN
- Provides technical support and troubleshooting of all SAN components
- Assists in the maintenance and operation of all SAN components and provides experience and input to support the government for the acquisition of SAN related hardware and software
- Configures and administers storage arrays, fiber switches, and associated components.
- Configures and administers data restore, disaster recovery, data backup clients, and servers
- Configures and administers file sharing on NAS devices over various communications
- protocols (i.e., CIFS, NFS, and SMB)
- Maintains storage aspects of new server integrations, storage allocation, and change management
- Sets up procedures to consolidate storage of data from different platforms (i.e., Windows, UNIX, and Linux).
- Performs routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance
- Performs storage analysis, capacity planning, and performance planning of storage components.
- Documents the policies and procedures to support the operational storage environment and participates in the design and ongoing refinement of procedures and policies
- Prepares reports on storage administration best practices, new technologies, etc., and recommends enhancements and configuration changes to improve and optimize storage.
Requirements:
- Five (5) years hands-on experience with enterprise SAN (Storage Area Network) management to include capabilities and technologies such as:
- Fiber Channel zoning, iSCSI, FCoE (Fiber Channel over Ethernet) unified fabric, HBA/CNA (Host Bus Adapter/Converged Network Adapter), storage controllers, and LUN (Logical Unit Number), RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks), and file sharing / NAS (Network Addressable Storage)
- Hands-on experience with enterprise hierarchical storage system management; operation of enterprise backup/restore services, using software such as Veritas NetBackup
- Two (2) years of hands-on experience with Cloud vendor Storage/Backup solutions.
- DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II
- Active Secret Security Clearance
