The successful candidate for this position will work under the supervision of an Applications Engineer and the Utility Division Manager and be trained to provide technical support for large weather station networks. Additionally, they will be trained to assemble, test, and prepare weather stations for shipment to the customer. They will also be responsible for completing weekly deliverables, including checks of their assigned network to ensure proper operation, and preparing and submitting status reports to the Utility Division Manager. The position may require weather station field service travel in the surrounding areas, including multi-day trips.
Responsibilities
75% - Provide Technical Support to Western Weather Group Customers

Task Tracker – Maintain accurate and precise weekly task tracker updates to track internal and external deliverables

Support Calls - Provide technical support to weather station client representatives over the phone

Validations – Review submitted support call details to ensure records and configurations are accurate

Identify Issues – review and escalate station or application issues to ensure efficient operation

Network Health Checks - Critically analyze and interpret data and provide reports and findings

Data Entry - Accurately enter data into custom data platform and Microsoft products

Data Analysis Requests - Prepare responses to client data and information requests utilizing M365 applications

Client and Vendor Communication - Communicate and troubleshoot equipment or services with vendor representatives or directly to clients
10-15% - Station Assembly and Testing

Assembly - Assist with assembly and testing of weather monitoring stations

RMA - Perform standardized returned material authorization testing and record results as pass or fail

QAQC - Review other team member data entry for QC/QA purposes
10% - Employee Performance Updates

Maintain an Employee Performance Plan document to track quarterly goals and targets for quarterly performance reviews
0-5% - Travel

Installation and maintenance/calibration of weather stations with possible work in inclement weather

Train clients using prepared documentation and equipment to properly install and maintain weather stations

Minimum Requirements
-
Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Copilot)
-
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills (telephone support experience preferred)
-
Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds
-
Task oriented and ability to independently deliver to schedule

Authorization to work in the U.S

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Ability to work with hand/power tools & knowledge of DC circuits
Preferred Skills

B. S. Degree in engineering or meteorology or equivalent STEM BS from accredited university or 2+ years field experience

Experience with Campbell Scientific equipment and datalogger programming

Experience traveling for work frequently while working in the field
-
Familiarity with low voltage hardware and operation of electrical test equipment
