Job DescriptionJob Summary

The Software Developer (WSCE)-Journeyman develops, integrates, tests, and maintains software for advanced modeling and simulation systems that support military training, testing, and evaluation. The role involves developing C/C++ applications, integrating software into flight simulators, supporting DevOps processes, working with databases and scripting languages, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance simulation platforms. Responsibilities also include reviewing code, implementing real-time simulation software, and contributing to software design and future system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop software for advanced modeling and simulation environments.
  • Integrate software into flight simulators for pilot training.
  • Support software development, integration, customer training, and demonstrations.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain C/C++ applications.
  • Develop software using CMake, Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
  • Work within DevOps environments, including automated builds, testing, and deployments.
  • Evaluate and review C/C++ source code.
  • Develop real-time software using parallel processing, multithreading, and inter-process communication.
  • Simulate complex environments and platforms.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement software enhancements.
  • Utilize Git, Jira, and other Agile development tools.
  • Support cross-platform software development.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace, Software Systems, Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of software development experience.
  • Experience with C/C++, CMake, Bash, Python, scripting, and databases.
  • Familiarity with Agile development tools such as Git and Jira.
  • Experience with Windows/Linux development environments is preferred.
  • Experience with modeling & simulation, military systems, or training environments is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain required security clearance.
