Work Setup: Onsite (Monday - Friday) with after-hours work and on-call rotation as assigned.

We’re seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to support servers, storage, virtual machines, and network services for our customer's Pompano Operations Center.
\n
This opportunity suits an IT support professional with at least three years of experience who is ready to take on broader systems administration responsibilities. You’ll work with Active Directory, VMware or Hyper-V, DNS, DHCP, backups, and system patching while contributing to infrastructure projects across multiple sites.

What you’ll do
\n

- Support virtual server configuration and administration in VMware and/or Hyper-V.
- Manage Active Directory users and groups and assist with Group Policy.
- Help configure and maintain DNS, DHCP, DFS, and certificates.
- Apply system patches and updates to maintain security and reliability.
- Verify backups and assist with disaster recovery testing and documentation.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, configuration issues, and switch/port status.
- Monitor system and network health using departmental tools.
- Assist with deploying switches, wireless access points, cabling, and other infrastructure equipment.
- Maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, incident tickets, and asset records.
- Participate in team projects and provide remote-site support as needed.

What you’ll bring
\n
- \n
- At least three years of IT experience in technical support, help desk, or junior systems administration.
- A bachelor’s degree or technical institute degree/certificate in Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Foundational networking knowledge gained through professional experience, home labs, or education.
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- A self-motivated approach and willingness to learn.

Preferred skills and certifications
\n
- \n
- Active Directory user and group management and basic Group Policy knowledge.
- Exposure to virtualization, monitoring tools, backup and recovery, and basic PowerShell.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and asset management.
- Interest in learning cloud platforms.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Azure Fundamentals certifications. Certifications are preferred, not required.

Additional requirements

- Ability to work onsite in Pompano Beach five days per week.
- Availability for occasional travel, assigned after-hours work, and on-call rotation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Completion of a Level 1 background check before starting.
- Compliance with departmental security policies and weekly activity/time reporting requirements.
