Quality Assurance Supervisor for a 4-Month Coverage
Role and Responsibilities
- Provides direct leadership and mentoring of QA techs and is responsible for their performance with respect to quality.
- Supervises quality functions in the facility implementing and ensuring systems are in place to adhere to the company’s quality operating standards.
- Responds to reports on food safety and food quality issues.
- Provides point leadership on quality incidents and directs and controls all activities to closure.
- Leads quality improvement efforts working with all staff as required.
- Leads and guides all work to control products and prevent further incidents by implementing effective solutions.
- Executes both internal and external activities to ensure all adversely affected products are placed on hold.
- Shares responsibility with production manager to ensure that plant sanitation requirements are met.
- Train on FSQA procedures, policy, and programs.
- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Manage EMP schedule.
- Manage Allergen verifications and validations.
- Manage sanitation verification and validation process.
Food safety and quality responsibilities:
Develop, implement, review, maintain, communicate, take actions, and overall ensure the integrity and validity of the company’s food safety and quality.
Qualifications for Skills & Experience
- Minimum Education: Associate degree and/or ample experience in the food industry – bachelor’s preferred.
- Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining HACCP plans.
- Formal, documented HACCP training (required)
- Experience working in food manufacturing.
- Understanding of various analytical and testing methods.
- Experience with and understanding of verification and validation processes for equipment, processes, and product specifications.
- Strong computer skills including the use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Elmwood Park, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
