Cash Applications Lead
Job Summary:
The Cash Applications Lead is responsible for payment application of all cash receipts from multiple sources and processing through Expandable and Oracle EBS. Interfaces with various systems and websites to import, export and/or edit data from multiple sources. Good organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, prompt follow-through and outstanding customer service required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead and assist with managing the cash application team located in India, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
Oversee the accurate and timely posting of customer payments (ACH, wire, checks, credit cards) to appropriate accounts.
Monitor unapplied cash and ensure prompt resolution of payment discrepancies.
Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Credit, Collections, Customer Service) to resolve payment issues and improve processes.
Compile packet documents for rebates, short payments, discounts, miscellaneous credit and rebills, etc. for review.
Maintain and reconcile daily cash receipts and bank deposits.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Prepare and analyze cash application metrics and reports for management.
Support month-end and year-end close activities related to cash application.
Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years’ experience with full cycle accounts receivable and cash applications
Oracle, SAP, or other ERP system
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Critical thinking skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, and research & resolution skills.
Must have a high degree of accuracy, detail- oriented, and adaptive learner.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
Demonstrates a strong desire to learn and assume ownership and responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with lockbox processing and automated cash application tools.
Knowledge of GAAP, business principles and standard operating practices
Problem solving and analytical skills.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or relevant certifications preferred.
