Job Summary

\n

We are seeking a highly motivated Test Engineer responsible for the design, development, integration, and manufacturing support of Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) for aerospace and spacecraft programs. The successful candidate will develop automated test systems, create test software, support hardware integration activities, and generate customer-facing test documentation. This role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure project schedules, technical requirements, and quality standards are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

\n

EGSE Development & Integration

\n

    \n
  • Design, develop, and support Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) for spacecraft and related aerospace products.
  • \n

  • Participate in test system architecture, integration, troubleshooting, validation, and deployment activities.
  • \n

  • Collaborate with hardware, software, systems, and test teams to ensure successful program execution.
  • \n

\n

Test Software Development

\n

    \n
  • Develop and maintain National Instruments LabVIEW Virtual Instruments (VIs) for:
  • \n

  • Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) instrument control and monitoring.
  • \n

  • User Interfaces (UI) for Unit Under Test (UUT) command and telemetry processing.
  • \n

  • Develop Python-based test automation scripts.
  • \n

  • Support automated execution and integration of LabVIEW and VxWorks-based test environments.
  • \n

  • Interface with embedded software running on Single Board Computers (SBCs).
  • \n

  • Support FPGA integration activities; familiarity with VHDL is desirable.
  • \n

Test Execution & Validation

\n

    \n
  • Conduct hardware and software integration testing.
  • \n

  • Perform system verification, validation, environmental testing, and acceptance testing.
  • \n

  • Troubleshoot test failures and perform root-cause analysis.
  • \n

  • Support execution of spacecraft component and subsystem testing.
  • \n

Documentation & Compliance

\n

    \n
  • Create and maintain:
  • \n

  • Assembly drawings
  • \n

  • Schematics
  • \n

  • Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • \n

  • Parts lists
  • \n

  • Generate and maintain formal customer deliverables including:
  • \n

  • Integration & Test Plans (ITP)
  • \n

  • Environmental Test Plans (ETP)
  • \n

  • Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP)
  • \n

  • Test Reports
  • \n

  • Utilize client document control systems and engineering documentation tools.
  • \n

Collaboration

\n

    \n
  • Work closely with engineering teams to meet program schedules and milestones.
  • \n

  • Assist hardware and software development teams with debugging, troubleshooting, and execution activities.
  • \n

  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and drive projects to completion.
  • \n

\n

Required Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field.
  • \n

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in test engineering, automation, or aerospace systems.
  • \n

  • Experience in software development using one or more of:
  • \n

  • Python
  • \n

  • LabVIEW
  • \n

  • C Programming
  • \n

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications:
  • \n

  • Visio
  • \n

  • Word
  • \n

  • Excel
  • \n

  • Knowledge of hardware testing principles and methodologies.
  • \n

  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • \n

  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • \n

Preferred Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • Experience with spacecraft, aerospace, or defense hardware testing.
  • \n

  • Experience with Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE).
  • \n

  • Knowledge of VxWorks RTOS.
  • \n

  • Familiarity with VHDL and FPGA development/integration.
  • \n

  • Experience with National Instruments test platforms and instrumentation.
  • \n

  • Experience using Intercept Mozaix or similar engineering documentation systems.
  • \n
