Cornell Forge is a recognized leader in the forging industry with a longstanding reputation for producing complex parts. Our facility is located just south of Chicago in Bedford Park.
We are currently recruiting for a Quality Technician. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, preferably in steel, forging or machining. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tech that has a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions:
- Perform inspection on tooling and parts using the Romer Arm or CMM, notifying supervision of any nonconformities.
- Verify inspection of parts using basic hand tool measurements if necessary
- Using forklift to transport material as needed
- Assist in completing documentation for PPAP submissions.
- Perform dimensional studies, layouts and capability studies and summarize results.
- Create and update Romer Arm/CMM programs as needed.
- Maintain gauge calibrations.
- Practice safe work habits and follow safety rules.

Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge and Experience using inspection equipment (calipers, height gages, etc.)
- Knowledge of PPAP & ISIR reporting
- Have a continual improvement mindset.
- CMM (Romer Arm) experience
- Solid working knowledge using various software (SPC, as well as Office)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Read and understand engineering drawings.
