Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to support client environments in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania through a Long-term Contract opportunity. This role is suited for a security specialist who can strengthen defenses across infrastructure, identity, cloud, and endpoint domains while helping teams respond effectively to evolving threats. The position offers the chance to contribute to hands-on security operations, improve control effectiveness, and support risk reduction initiatives across a range of technologies.
Responsibilities:
• Review security events and investigate suspicious activity to help contain and resolve incidents in a timely manner.
• Administer and optimize cybersecurity tools used for monitoring, endpoint protection, vulnerability tracking, and platform security.
• Evaluate weaknesses across systems and applications, then partner with technical teams to drive remediation and reduce exposure.
• Support identity and access security efforts, including authentication controls, directory services, and privileged access practices.
• Help secure cloud and enterprise environments, with an emphasis on Microsoft-based infrastructure and related services.
• Examine alerts, logs, and threat intelligence sources to identify patterns, assess impact, and improve defensive response.
• Contribute to incident response activities, security reviews, and risk mitigation planning for ongoing operational resilience.
• Create and maintain clear security documentation, including procedures, standards, and technical guidance for internal stakeholders.• At least 2 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or closely related infrastructure roles.
• Hands-on familiarity with security platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, CrowdStrike, Defender, Rapid7, Tenable, or comparable tools.
• Working knowledge of identity and access concepts, including Active Directory, Entra ID, authentication methods, and privileged access controls.
• Understanding of core security principles across networks, endpoints, cloud platforms, and applications.
• Exposure to industry security frameworks and standards such as NIST, CIS, SOC 2, or ISO 27001.
• Experience with firewall and network security technologies, including platforms such as Check Point and Cisco ASA.
• Knowledge of configuration management practices that support secure and consistent system administration.
• Relevant certifications such as Security+, CySA+, Azure security credentials, or similar are considered beneficial.
