Dateline Exports is an established export company specializing in the supply of construction materials for overseas projects in the western Pacific Islands area, specifically Guam, American Samoa, Marshall Islands, and Federated States of Micronesia. With over 35 years of experience, Dateline has been a responsive and trusted partner, providing construction materials for military and private development projects, along with the value-added logistics services.
Position Overview
The IT Manager position, located in Wilsonville, OR, will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day IT support, coordinating with the company’s external IT Managed Service Provider (MSP), and managing hardware, software, licenses, and IT assets. This position will also support cybersecurity and cloud initiatives, oversee the Tier 1 IT Technician, and coordinate employee software training and development. This is an on-site position with the option to work one day remote a week after the initial training period.
Duties & Responsibilities:
IT Management & Support:
- Act as the internal liaison between staff and our external IT Managed Service Provider (MSP). Train employees on how to submit IT support tickets and ensure proper documentation of common issues.
- Monitor the progress and resolution of IT support tickets to ensure timely and satisfactory outcomes.
- Coordinate with the MSP to install, configure, test, and upgrade hardware, software, and network systems.
- Supervise first-level in-office troubleshooting for onboarding, device setup, network access, company phones, and other IT needs.
- Set up and configure laptops, install necessary software, and ensure all required access permissions are granted for new hires. Provide initial IT orientation and support, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge needed to start their roles effectively.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT equipment, licenses, and software usage. Coordinate IT asset lifecycle activities such as procurement, deployment, and decommissioning.
- Account manager for a variety of different internal software and SaaS programs. Responsible for tracking renewals, license counts, etc.
- Work with our Sales Manager, MSP, and customers as needed, to support compliance with Department of Defense (DOD) and federal cybersecurity requirements. Make recommendations and gather pricing for management review for any upgrades needed to meet these requirements. This includes:

- Overseeing audits and regular maintenance of accounts, licenses, and systems.
- Generation, approval, and maintenance of IT policies and procedures.
- Working alongside MSP to ensure proper vulnerability management, disaster recovery and business continuity, incident response, access control policies, etc.
- Support the company’s ongoing transition from on-premise systems to a fully cloud-based environment by coordinating with our MSP, other 3rd party providers, and internal stakeholders, helping train staff, and ensuring minimal disruption during the migration". Lead the evaluation, planning, and implementation of system changes and upgrades across the organization to improve performance, enhance user experience, and align with evolving business needs. Do this by making recommendations, providing costs, and gaining approval of management for any changes or upgrades.
- Maintain current documentation of IT systems, configurations, vendors, administrative accounts, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting processes to support operational continuity.
- Assist with developing and managing the annual IT budget, including forecasting hardware replacements, software renewals, cybersecurity investments, professional services, and other technology-related expenses.
- Develop and maintain an IT roadmap that identifies organizational technology needs, priorities, risks, planned upgrades, and long-term improvement opportunities.
- Oversee Tier 1 IT Technician position, providing guidance, support, and training as needed. Ensure this position has the proper tools to do their job effectively
- Perform other reasonable duties and special projects related to information technology, cybersecurity, systems administration, and organizational needs as assigned.
Systems Training:
- Work alongside the MSP and Tier 1 Tech to source appropriate learning resources and programs for software. This includes shadowing staff across departments to understand their workflows and technology use, gathering feedback, and identifying pain points and improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate training logistics including scheduling, communications, material preparation, and platform access.
- Ensure effective training sessions using a variety of instructional methods to accommodate different learning styles.
- Maintain training records and track completion to ensure required training is completed in a timely manner.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Relevant certifications are a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Excel) and experience supporting users in a Microsoft-based environment.
- Working knowledge of cloud-based systems including Microsoft Azure, cloud file storage, and administration tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot common hardware, software, and networking issues and coordinate resolution with service providers.
- Comfortable managing IT asset records, tracking software licenses, and assisting in the transition to cloud-based solutions.
- Demonstrated experience developing, organizing, and delivering effective in-person and virtual training. This includes the ability to assess training needs, source or create appropriate content, and measure training effectiveness.
- Effective time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to support both in-office and remote staff consistently and efficiently.
- Willingness and ability to travel between company locations in Wilsonville, Salem, and Gresham as needed.

- Work may require occasional interactions with customers, vendors, and others, outside of core business hours.
- Work will require occasional travel to both our Salem office and Gresham warehouse.
