Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Technical Team Lead – Network Infrastructure job for one of our premier healthcare partners in Stamford, CT. This CONTRACT hire job is available with one of our key customers in the healthcare industry. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for the architecture, implementation, and ongoing support of enterprise network infrastructure, including routing, switching, wireless, voice, and network security solutions. To be successful in this position, you must have a strong background in enterprise network engineering, Cisco technologies, security infrastructure, and technical leadership. Preference will be given to someone with experience leading infrastructure initiatives, mentoring engineering teams, and driving network modernization efforts.
Senior Network Engineering Lead Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and support of enterprise network infrastructure utilizing Cisco routing, switching, and wireless technologies.
- Architect, deploy, and maintain secure network environments leveraging Fortinet firewalls, VPN technologies, and perimeter security solutions.
- Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex network, security, and infrastructure issues.
- Design, configure, and support Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC) and enterprise wireless environments.
- Implement and maintain routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Configure advanced switching technologies including VLANs, STP, VPC, and high availability network architectures.
- Partner with cybersecurity teams to implement Zero Trust initiatives, network segmentation, and enterprise security standards.
- Monitor network performance, capacity, and availability while proactively identifying opportunities for optimization, continuous improvement, and developing redundancy, disaster recovery, and failover strategies to maximize infrastructure uptime.
- Lead enterprise infrastructure projects from planning through implementation, ensuring successful delivery while mentoring junior engineers and establishing engineering best practices across the infrastructure team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience), with 8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience and at least 2 years in a technical leadership or team lead role.
- Expert knowledge of Cisco routing, switching, wireless, and enterprise networking technologies, including hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, ISR, ASR, and Wireless LAN Controllers.
- Strong experience with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, VPN technologies, IPSec, SSL VPN, network security, and advanced routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, and VPC.
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting highly available enterprise infrastructure, disaster recovery solutions, and modern network architectures, with experience in Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), VoIP, and SIP technologies preferred.
- Working knowledge of Python, Ansible, and network automation tools is a plus, while CCNP Enterprise, CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, Cisco Wireless, and/or Fortinet NSE4+ certifications are highly preferred.
