This RF Technician will support wireless Small Cell and Outdoor Distributed Antenna System (ODAS) deployments throughout the Richmond market and surrounding areas. Technicians will work in teams of 2-4 and be responsible for the installation, alignment, testing, and troubleshooting of RF equipment for major wireless carrier networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, mount, and test RF equipment including antennas, remote radio heads (RRHs), and related wireless infrastructure.
- Perform system alignment, commissioning support, and field testing using OTDRs, power meters, spectrum analyzers, and PIM/sweep testing equipment.
- Support Small Cell, ODAS, rooftop, and tower-based deployments, including 5G upgrades and network expansion projects.
- Complete equipment upgrades, site modifications, and warehouse pre-build/staging activities as required.
- Troubleshoot RF and fiber connectivity issues to ensure proper system performance.
- Interact professionally with customers and site stakeholders during installations and service activities.
- Follow project schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Required Experience
- 3+ years of experience installing, testing, and troubleshooting Small Cell wireless systems.
- Experience mounting and installing RF equipment, including antennas and remote radio heads.
- Hands-on experience with Nokia, Ericsson, Samsung, or similar wireless equipment.
- Experience performing PIM and sweep testing, as well as testing coaxial and fiber infrastructure.
- Proficiency with OTDRs, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and other RF testing tools.
- Experience supporting rooftop and tower-based wireless deployments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating boom lifts or lift trucks.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Comfortable working at elevated heights when required.
- Strong communication skills and a professional customer-facing demeanor.
- Flexible and willing to travel occasionally, including limited overnight stays.
Work Environment
- Combination of field work and warehouse staging/pre-build activities.
- Team-oriented environment with varying day-to-day responsibilities.
- Typical work schedule is approximately 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with flexibility based on project needs.
- Technicians generally report to the local shop before traveling to project sites with their team.
Project Need
Additional RF Technician support is needed to meet increasing wireless infrastructure deployment demands, including Small Cell, rooftop, tower, and 5G network upgrade projects.

This is a Contract position based out of Henrico, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $37.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
