Infrastructure Project Manager
Optomi, in partnership with a leader in the utilities industry, is seeking an Infrastructure Project Manager to act as a Task Master for a new Facility buildout, including things like networking, routers, racks, switches, etc. Knowing intricacies of the hardware and cabling is not needed, but knowing how to coordinate related tasks, is.
Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:
- Serve as the onsite “eyes and ears” for a primarily remote infrastructure team
- Coordinate daily activities across vendors, contractors, and internal teams
- Track and manage infrastructure tasks such as:
- Fiber installation
- Rack mounting and server setup
- IDF/MDF buildouts
- Maintain clear visibility into who is doing what, when, and for how long
- Navigate building access, security procedures, and onsite logistics
- Monitor progress and escalate blockers quickly to leadership
- Conduct walkthroughs of the facility and ensure work is progressing as planned
- Provide regular updates to the Director of Infrastructure and stakeholders
- Support rapid issue resolution in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment
Qualifications of the Right Candidate:
- 5+ years of project management experience
- Experience with infrastructure, networking, or physical IT environments
- Ability to work onsite in Oklahoma City (non-negotiable)
- Strong organizational and coordination skills
- Comfortable operating as a task-driven executor vs. technical SME
- Ability to manage multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with a new facility buildout would be highly preferred.
