Automotive Technical Support Engineer II (Level 2)
Auburn Hills, MI (Onsite)
Pay: $30–$35/hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Technical Support Engineer II (Level 2) to join a high-performing technical assistance team supporting dealership service operations. This role acts as a key escalation point, providing advanced diagnostic support, guiding repair solutions, and driving continuous improvement in issue resolution and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a Level 2 escalation point for complex diagnostic and repair cases
- Assist and mentor Level 1 agents in identifying root causes and delivering effective repair solutions
- Provide technical guidance to dealership technicians and service teams
- Manage and resolve escalated cases, including outbound follow-ups and next-step determinations
- Review and analyze technical cases to identify trends, emerging issues, and repair patterns
- Support new model launches and early warranty programs
- Drive improvements in diagnostic quality and dealership satisfaction
- Provide feedback to leadership on agent performance, training gaps, and development opportunities
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of automotive technical experience
- Automotive degree OR equivalent hands-on experience
- Prior call center or technical support experience (ticketing/case management)
- Experience working directly with dealerships and service technicians
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency with dealer service tools, repair procedures, and technical systems
- Basic computer skills (Windows, case management systems)
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE Certification (in relevant automotive specialty)
- 5+ years of automotive repair experience (dealership experience strongly preferred, especially Stellantis)
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology or related field
- Experience with dealer information systems and diagnostic software
