Position Title: UNIX Systems Administrator (Senior Linux Engineer)

Location: Boca Raton, FL

Duration: 12 Months

Role Overview:
Provide operational support and maintenance for a large Linux estate (approximately 300 servers). The role focuses on Red Hat (RHEL 8/9) administration, patch management, automation, performance tuning, security vulnerability remediation, and collaboration with IT and business stakeholders to ensure high availability and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and related software.

  • Perform OS patching and remediate security vulnerabilities to meet compliance requirements.

  • Tune systems to application-specific requirements and support server migrations.

  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability.

  • Develop and maintain automation (Ansible) and manage related platforms and tooling.

  • Provide on-call Unix/Linux support in a 24x7 environment and document work.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • RHEL Linux 8/9 administration and patch management.

  • Linux server builds and custom configuration experience.

  • Ansible playbook development and Ansible Automation Platform management.

  • SolarWinds monitoring experience.

  • VMware operational knowledge.

  • Strong TCP/IP networking knowledge and experience in firewalled environments.

  • Performance tuning experience for Oracle database servers.

  • Server security vulnerability management and remediation experience.

  • Minimum ~10 years systems administration experience (as stated in source).

Preferred Skills:

  • Storage management basics.

  • Database administration basics.

  • Cloud integration basics.

  • Windows administration basics.

  • Veritas NetBackup management basics.

  • Familiarity with JBoss, WebSphere, Splunk, HP ALM.
