Join a large, established food processing company with facilities in Kent and Des Moines, WA that specializes in fresh, ready-to-eat products—including sandwiches, fruit bowls, and veggie trays. This role plays a critical part in preparing production areas for operation, inspecting equipment, auditing processes, and ensuring compliance.
As the Senior QA Lead, you’ll lead quality initiatives, supervise the QA team, and ensure food safety remains the top priority.
This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for candidates ready to take on a leadership role in quality assurance with a hands-on, flexible approach.
Senior QA Lead Duties:
- Lead and perform pre-operational/operational inspections of equipment, processes, and employees to ensure compliance with all quality and safety requirements.
- Inspect incoming raw materials, packaging, and finished goods for quality, temperature, and regulatory adherence.
- Oversee HACCP documentation, conduct GMP/SSOP audits, and drive corrective/preventive action plans.
- Supervise QA staff, assign duties, and partner with production teams to meet quality goals.
- Manage CCPs and liaise with USDA and other regulatory agencies.
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Sunday and a week day off, schedule may vary
- Weekend work and overtime is required
Pay: $27.00 – $28.00 per hour
Senior QA Lead Requirements:
- HACCP and PCQI certifications required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 4–5 years of food production experience
- 1–2 years in a QA lead role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work in a refrigerated environment for extended periods
