About the Position
\n
We are looking for an Application Developer who enjoys building software, solving technical problems, and seeing their work make a difference.
\n
This is a hands-on development position focused primarily on writing, testing, deploying, and maintaining business applications. You will work directly with our technical team to translate business requirements into reliable, maintainable software.
\n
Much of our development involves Flex-365, our existing, configurable business application platform. We extend and customize this platform to deliver solutions such as order management, workflow automation, approval processes, operational reporting, and data integration. We also develop standalone applications and modernize existing software systems.
\n
Our applications often connect with existing business systems and data sources, supporting broader solutions that include automation, Power BI reporting, and business analytics. While this position is focused on application development, you will have the opportunity to see how software, data, and business processes work together to create complete solutions.
\n
Because we are a small company, developers participate in multiple aspects of the software development lifecycle, from understanding requirements and evaluating technical approaches to implementation, testing, and deployment.
\n
We are open to different levels of experience. An early-career developer may work alongside experienced team members while building technical proficiency. A more experienced developer may take greater ownership of architecture, implementation decisions, and complex development assignments.
\n
In either case, the primary responsibility is developing and delivering working software. This is not a management position.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development

- Design, develop, test, and maintain business applications using C#, .NET, Blazor, and related technologies.
- Build new application functionality, user interfaces, business logic, and automated workflows.
- Enhance existing applications and troubleshoot functional or performance issues.
- Write clean, understandable, and maintainable code that can be supported and extended over time.

Database Development & Integration

- Develop and maintain SQL Server databases, queries, stored procedures, and related data structures.
- Build integrations between applications, databases, and external business systems.
- Develop reliable data connections that support application functionality, automation, reporting, and analytics.
- Support data validation, accuracy, performance, and reliability.

Testing, Deployment & Support
\n

- Test and debug software to ensure that solutions function as intended.
- Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement of development practices.
- Assist with application deployments, troubleshooting, and ongoing enhancements.
- Help maintain technical documentation and share knowledge across the team.

Collaboration & Project Delivery

- Work with developers, designers, project managers, and customers to understand requirements and implement practical solutions.
- Participate in technical discussions and contribute ideas for improving application functionality, performance, and usability.
- Organize assigned development tasks, document progress, and support project delivery through Azure DevOps.
- Take responsibility for completing assigned work, communicating obstacles, and delivering reliable results.

What We're Looking For

- Working knowledge of object-oriented programming and software development fundamentals.
- Experience with C# and .NET, or demonstrated proficiency with comparable technologies and the ability to learn our development stack.
- Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
- Understanding of web application development concepts, including front-end and back-end functionality.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to approach technical challenges logically.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with other developers and team members.
- Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and take responsibility for the quality of your work.

- Blazor, ASP.NET Core, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.

- REST APIs, systems integration, or workflow automation.
- Power BI, business intelligence, or data integration technologies.
- Experience developing, maintaining, or modernizing business applications.
- Experience working directly with customers or translating business requirements into technical solutions.

A degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is welcome but not required. We place significant value on demonstrated technical ability, problem-solving skills, and completed development work.

Compensation will reflect the candidate's technical capabilities, professional experience, and responsibilities. Our team typically works together at our Cincinnati office Monday through Thursday, with Fridays available for remote work.
