Duties:
• Perform in-process and final inspections on steel components
• Verify size, appearance, welds, coating, and compliance with specifications
• Use drawings and inspection plans to ensure all materials meet quality standards
• Record results and follow procedures for non-conforming products
• Inspect welded joints, bolted connections, surface preparation, and coatings
• Use tools like Skidmore to test bolted assemblies
• Work under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience in steel fabrication or a similar environment (2 years for Final Inspector)
• Ability to read shop drawings and understand specifications and codes
• Knowledge of welding symbols, structural welding code (AWS D1.1), and bolted joint standards (ASTM A325 or A490)
• Familiar with coating standards and measuring coating thickness
• Good attention to detail and ability to work independently
Physical Demands:
• Able to stand, walk, kneel, and lift up to 100 lbs
• Must have vision corrected to 20/20
