Network Services Technician- Location: Amelia, Virginia (23002)

Overview:

We’re seeking a skilled Network Services Technician responsible for the installation, maintenance, and service of plant facilities and customer-owned equipment. This position supports residential and small business customers with fiber, copper, broadband, and Wi-Fi services, ensuring high-quality network performance and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

· Install and repair telephone, video, broadband, and special services in both fiber and copper plant.

· Perform FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) installations and set up Wi-Fi networks at customer premises.

· Install fiber and copper enclosures and inside wiring per company standards.

· Handle and manage fiber optic connections and basic low-voltage wiring.

· Locate and troubleshoot issues in network facilities efficiently.

· Perform fiber splicing using various splicing machines and record test readings (OTDR, TDR, etc.).

· Respond to and restore service during interruptions or outages.

· Operate company vehicles safely; maintain a valid driver’s license (personal insurability required).

Qualifications & Experience:

· Associate degrees in a relevant technical field or equivalent hands-on experience required.

· Proficiency in fiber and copper color codes and identification.

· Solid understanding of 802.11xx wireless networks and broadband technologies (DSL, FTTx, Wi-Fi).

· Experience with test equipment (OTDR, TDR) and fiber splicing.

· Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or in a team.

· Strong communication and customer service skills.

· Willingness to travel for training and attend multi-day sessions as needed.

· Must provide own truck and tools.

Special Conditions:

· Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

· Requires overtime, weekend, holiday, and on-call rotation as needed.

· May follow Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday rotation schedules.

· Must be flexible to work under varying weather conditions.

· Positive attitude and teamwork are essential.

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to climb ladders and poles, stoop, crawl, and kneel.

· Must be able to lift over 100 lbs as needed.

· Must not be color-blind (color identification required).

· Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
