Typical Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Daily Tasks:
- Start with emails, attend meetings, address open issues, and work on ongoing projects.
- Handle break-fix scenarios and provide solutions to system issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with teams to address deployments, system upgrades, and process changes.

Current Projects:
- Upgrading from System Center 2016 to 2025 while evaluating alternative solutions.
- Designing and rolling out multi-week initiatives.
- Resolving deployment issues and managing process improvements.
- Examples of recent initiatives include:
- Changing the VPN client on all machines.
- Implementing an email policy change.
- Handling terminated accounts and streamlining the process.
- Exploring MDM management using certificate authentication.

Job Title: IT Systems EngineerJob Summary
We are looking for an IT Systems Engineer to join our innovative team and play a key role in designing and implementing advanced technology solutions that support both internal and external users. Based in Irving, TX, this position is part of the Systems Engineering team, which oversees the design and management of data centers, cloud platforms, and IT infrastructure supporting over 800 locations nationwide.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing and maintaining IT infrastructure, with expertise in Microsoft technologies. You will collaborate closely with IT management, operations, software development teams, help desks, and project managers to ensure seamless IT systems and network performance.
Reports To: IT Engineering Manager
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 5+ years of expertise in IT engineering and operations, including:
- LAN and server administration.
- Email systems management.
- Backup systems and storage management.
- Monitoring and alerting systems.
- Desktop support.
- Active Directory/identity management.
- Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
- Confidence communicating with diverse teams, including clerical staff, developers, senior leadership, and external vendors.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to operate personal computers and external peripherals.

- Familiarity with support ticketing systems for managing incidents and change requests.

Essential Job Functions

- Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support, promptly addressing incidents and requests while tracking changes using approved ticketing systems.
- Develop and maintain server and workstation images/templates.
- Design and execute business continuity strategies, maintain system backups, and ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Research and evaluate software and systems to support recommendations and inform budget planning.
- Assist with the development and documentation of IT infrastructure policies, including runbooks, configuration specifics, and procedural guidelines.
