Quality Technician 2nd Shift
Medicoil | Lake Geneva, WI
2nd shift hours: Monday – Friday from 2:30 pm to 11:00pm OR 3:30 pm to 12:00 am
Job Summary:
The Quality Technician position reports to the Quality Manager and assists in the inspection and verification of product. The Quality Technician is tasked with identifying quality issues at different levels of manufacture throughout the organization and will assist Production and Operations by performing Inspection and documenting results of Materials and Components. This role is a leader for colleagues in demonstrating our commitment to prevention versus detection at R&L Spring Company.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs First Piece Inspection and Final Inspection
- Charting or In-process Inspections
- Optical / Visual Inspections
- Set up and operate testing equipment
- Perform calculations and math functions
- Accurate reporting and recording of data and information.
- Perform work in a timely manner to meet quality expectations, while adhering to delivery requirements
- Ensure compliance with the “Control of Non-Conforming Material” process
- Flexibility to work in a changing environment
- Understand Inspection Frequencies and Sampling Plans.
- Follow R&L workmanship and quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Abides by all R&L policies and procedures as stated in the Employee Handbook
- Abides by all R&L safety standards and requirements
- Alerts the supervisor when nonconformance’s are found
- Responsible for understanding and following IATF 16949 standards and continuous improvements as it relates to this position.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to read and follow written work instructions
- Learn to use inspection tools and test equipment
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Basic tool knowledge
- Preferred manufacturing experience
- Reading and understanding of customer blueprints
- Physical Requirements:
- Required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands regularly.
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
