Job Description

We believe talent deserves a human touch. Your application will be read by an actual person who’s excited to discover the real you.

We are seeking a skilled and service-oriented Senior Systems Engineer to join our team. This role is primarily focused on maintaining and supporting our clients' existing IT environments, with an emphasis on Azure server support, Intune tools and configurations, conditional access policies, and Group Policy administration. This is a remote/hybrid position that requires daily travel to client sites across Los Angeles County. Candidates must be comfortable working independently in the field while collaborating with a seasoned technical team.

Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer
Location: Remote/Hybrid – Daily Travel to Client Sites in LA County
Compensation: Starting at $45/hr ($95K salary), OT eligible, with strong potential for rapid growth and promotion.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Ownership

  • Take full ownership of assigned projects — including migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure enhancements — seeing each through from planning to successful completion
  • Lead projects hands-on rather than delegating from a distance; remain actively involved in the technical execution, not just oversight
  • Manage weekly onsite client visitations, serving as the primary technical point of contact during on-site engagements
  • Communicate clearly with clients throughout project lifecycles to set, manage, and meet expectations
  • Perform onsite installations and hands-on configuration work as part of project delivery

Technical Engineering & Infrastructure

  • Design, configure, and support virtualization environments as part of infrastructure projects
  • Support and help guide AI enablement initiatives within client environments
  • Configure and manage networking infrastructure directly, including firewalls, switches, VLANs, and ACLs
  • Hands-on configuration experience required with firewall/networking platforms such as SonicWall, HP, Meraki, and WatchGuard
  • Serve as the L3 escalation point for complex technical issues beyond L1/L2 scope

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, network administration, or infrastructure support (MSP experience strongly preferred)
  • Proven experience leading and personally executing projects such as migrations, upgrades, and system enhancements from start to finish
  • Strong hands-on configuration experience with firewalls and networking equipment (SonicWall, HP, Meraki, WatchGuard, or similar)
  • Solid working knowledge of VLANs, ACLs, switching, and network security best practices
  • Experience with virtualization platforms and infrastructure design
  • Familiarity with AI enablement tools/technologies, or willingness to develop expertise in this area
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills, with the ability to manage expectations throughout a project
  • Comfortable working independently onsite and taking ownership of outcomes rather than just tasks
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco, Meraki, SonicWall, Microsoft) a plus
