Job DescriptionWe are looking for a detail-oriented Project Manager to lead a long-term initiative aimed at enhancing onboarding processes across a statewide agency. This role will focus on developing a streamlined and scalable onboarding experience to support employee engagement, compliance, and retention. As part of this long-term contract position, you will work closely with HR teams, leadership, and program areas to align onboarding improvements with broader workforce and talent development strategies. The position offers a hybrid work environment and may require occasional travel across Tennessee.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze existing onboarding practices across various divisions to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement a standardized onboarding framework that enhances the new employee experience and supports employee retention.
• Collaborate with HR leadership and stakeholders to ensure alignment between onboarding strategies and broader organizational goals.
• Act as a subject matter expert on onboarding, HR process improvements, and workforce development initiatives.
• Provide recommendations for integrating onboarding procedures with performance management and talent development systems.
• Design and deliver training sessions, workshops, and resources to promote effective adoption of new onboarding practices.
• Assist in creating policies, tools, and metrics to evaluate the success and impact of onboarding improvements.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement and communication throughout all phases of project implementation.
• Drive continuous improvement by monitoring project outcomes and refining processes as necessary.
• Travel as required to support project initiatives across multiple locations within the state.• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Public Administration, or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in HR, talent management, or organizational development roles.
• Demonstrated expertise in assessing and designing onboarding programs for large, multi-site organizations.
• Proven experience in process improvement strategies and project implementation.
• Familiarity with public sector or government organizational structures and practices.
• Strong skills in project management, stakeholder communication, and facilitation.
• Knowledge of integrating onboarding systems with performance management and career development tools.
• HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, or similar credentials is preferred.
