Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Test Process Development Engineer to support a leading semiconductor technology organization focused on developing world-class electronic testing solutions.
This engineer will play a critical role in designing, developing, and deploying advanced structural test solutions for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in manufacturing test development, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration within high-tech hardware environments.
This position offers the opportunity to work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams to ensure products meet the highest standards of reliability, performance, and manufacturability.
Responsibilities
- Develop structural test strategies for PCBAs across various production and quality validation stages.
- Design and implement Flying Probe and In-Circuit Test (ICT) solutions.
- Partner with hardware, software, operations, and manufacturing teams throughout new product introduction activities.
- Provide design-for-test feedback on PCB components, schematics, and layouts.
- Manage external manufacturing partners responsible for fixture fabrication, test programming, validation, and release-to-production activities.
- Analyze manufacturing data, yields, and test results to identify process improvements and quality enhancements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve testing efficiency, product quality, and manufacturing performance.
- Support test process scalability across global manufacturing environments.
- Collaborate with international engineering and supplier teams to ensure successful project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronics, or related field preferred).
- 5+ years of experience supporting PCBA testing environments.
- Strong experience with In-Circuit Test (ICT) development and implementation.
- Experience working with Teradyne Test Station or comparable test platforms.
- Knowledge of ICT fixture development and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of statistical process control, yield analysis, and Cp/Cpk methodologies.
- Experience with PCB design review tools such as Cadence Allegro, Valor, or similar software.
- Previous collaboration with EMS and contract manufacturers.
- Experience with Python, Perl, or other scripting languages preferred.
- Exposure to Visual Basic and/or C# .NET is a plus.
- Ability to travel approximately 10%.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills within global organizations.
