In this vital field service role, you will travel to regional residential and commercial client sites to perform detailed system diagnostics, execute mechanical repairs, conduct thorough compliance inspections, and collect wastewater and effluent samples. Description for Septic System Technician:
- Perform comprehensive field inspections and operational diagnostics on conventional and engineered septic systems, pumps, and drain fields.
- Troubleshoot and execute mechanical and plumbing repairs on septic tanks, effluent pumps, float switches, piping, and control panels.
- Collect and document soil, effluent, and wastewater samples according to strict environmental and regulatory guidelines.
- Locate septic tanks, distribution boxes, and conveyance lines using probing tools, electronic locators, or hand digging when necessary.
- Complete accurate inspection logs, repair documentation, and compliance reports for clients and municipal health authorities.
- Maintain service vehicles, diagnostic tools, and equipment in a clean, organized, and sanitary operating condition.
- Strictly adhere to jobsite safety standards, biohazard protocols, and PPE requirements.
Details for Septic System Technician:
- Pay Rate:$23.00 – $28.00 / hour (Scaling based on mechanical diagnostic skills and relevant trade experience / DOE).
- Schedule: Full-Time Monday – Friday (Core Day Shift).
- Overtime Flexibility: Occasional Saturday shifts based on client scheduling and emergency service demands.
- Work Style: 100% Local field service — Home every single night!
- Location: Olympia, WA dispatch hub (servicing regional Thurston County sites).

Requirements for Septic System Technician:
- Trade Experience: Proven background in construction, mechanical systems, plumbing, or equipment repair.
- Service & Inspection: Verifiable experience conducting inspections, maintenance, or field repairs in an industrial, utility, or construction setting.
- Mechanical troubleshooting aptitude and comfort working around wastewater systems and outdoor environmental conditions.
- Physical stamina to lift up to 50–75 lbs, bend, stoop, dig, and navigate rough outdoor terrain.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean, insurable driving abstract for operating company service vehicles.
- Exceptional history of daily attendance, prompt punctuality, and professional customer-facing communication.
