If you take pride in keeping a space clean and running smoothly, are comfortable operating floor care equipment, and don't mind pitching in wherever the day needs you, we'd like to talk with you.

Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital is one of the St. Louis area's most respected healthcare organizations. Located on a beautiful campus in Maryland Heights, Ranken Jordan provides specialized rehabilitation and transitional care for children. Every member of the Facilities and Environmental Services team helps create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, families, visitors, and staff.

Schedule

  • Full-time
  • 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
  • Rotating weekends required

Responsibilities

  • Perform floor care tasks including sweeping, mopping, auto-scrubbing, and general floor surface maintenance.
  • Operate floor care equipment safely, including support for advanced floor care activities as needed.
  • Clean upholstery and furniture to maintain appearance throughout the facility.
  • Provide coverage for Environmental Services functions, including housekeeping and laundry, during staffing gaps, absences, or high-volume periods.
  • Perform light maintenance tasks, including minor repairs to doors, locks, furniture, plumbing fixtures, and wall surfaces, and replace basic components like light bulbs, ceiling tiles, and air filters.
  • Complete work orders through the ticketing system, documenting completed work and communicating status updates.
  • Support room setups, furniture moves, and space adjustments.
  • Maintain walkways and parking areas, including debris and snow/ice removal.
  • Use approved cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment safely and in line with established procedures.
  • Respond to service requests in a timely, patient-focused manner.
  • Assist with emergency response procedures as directed, including drills and evacuation support.

Required Qualifications

  • Comfort operating floor care, cleaning, and basic maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to use common hand and power tools safely.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • A stable work history demonstrating reliability and commitment to previous employers.
  • Ability to work independently, stay organized, and adjust to shifting priorities across facilities, housekeeping, laundry, and floor care needs.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including regularly lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 36 to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and standing or walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to work the required evening schedule and rotating weekends.
  • Must pass all pre-employment screening, including employment verification, professional reference checks, criminal background check, drug screening, and any additional screening required by Ranken Jordan.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a hospital, healthcare facility, school, hotel, or other commercial environment.
  • Experience using computerized work order or maintenance management systems.

If you're looking for more than just another cleaning or maintenance job, and want to be part of an organization that makes a real difference in the lives of children and families, we'd love to hear from you.
