Job DescriptionMS-IL Staffing & Packaging and our local clients are now hiring a 1st Shift Computer Support Specialist in the Indianapolis, IN area.
- Position: Computer Support Specialist
- Shift: 1st Shift, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- Pay: $19–$20 per hour
- Location: Zionsville Road and 96th Street / Northwest Indianapolis
Summary: This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of computer hardware and systems, including desktops, laptops, and related peripherals. The Computer Support Specialist will also handle inventory, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure equipment meets quality standards before redeployment or storage.Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair computer hardware, including desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
- Test and install operating systems, drivers, and other software as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance on IT equipment, including cleaning, replacing parts, and upgrading components.
- Inspect and test returned or incoming inventory to confirm functionality.
- Collaborate with department staff to manage the workflow of computer repair requests while following all departmental safety and security policies.
Work Environment:
- Seated work
- Standing as needed
- Temperature-controlled warehouse environment
- Computer station work for the majority of the shift
- Essential physical requirements may include standing, stooping, typing, and lifting up to 10–20 pounds intermittently throughout the shift.
Competencies:
- Associate degree or certification in IT, electronics, or a related field preferred.
- Familiarity with software installation, data recovery, and virus removal.
- Comfortable working with mobile devices and related technology.
- Strong knowledge of computer components and operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and macOS.
