We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Superintendent to join our team!
Essential Responsibilities
- Supervise and support all internal landscape maintenance crews.
- Develop and manage weekly crew schedules to maximize efficiency while meeting customer expectations.
- Perform daily inspections of maintenance and post-install maintenance work to ensure compliance with company quality standards.
- Conduct quality assurance inspections and provide coaching to field personnel.
- Coordinate project turnover meetings with installation superintendents and transition new projects into the 90-day post-install maintenance program.
- Ensure newly accepted projects receive appropriate scheduling, staffing, and maintenance planning.
- Monitor irrigation performance, plant health, turf conditions, and overall landscape quality of each job we are responsible for.
- Diagnose plant health issues and recommend corrective actions, including fertilizers, soil amendments, and disease treatment.
- Monitor labor productivity, equipment utilization, and material usage.
- Participate in monthly financial reviews, including labor costs, budgets, forecasts, and production performance.
- Ensure OSHA compliance and promote a strong culture of workplace safety.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, builders, and internal departments.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of commercial landscape maintenance experience.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial landscape maintenance practices, including:
- Turf maintenance
- Irrigation systems and troubleshooting
- Tree and shrub care
- Seasonal maintenance practices
- Fertilization programs
- Weed and pest management
- Working knowledge of common tree, shrub, and turf diseases, including identifying issues and recommending appropriate treatments or fertilizers.
- Experience supervising multiple maintenance crews while maintaining productivity, safety, and quality standards.
- Proven experience planning and coordinating weekly crew schedules and adjusting schedules as priorities change.
- Ability to perform daily field inspections and identify quality deficiencies, safety concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Experience coordinating turnover walks with construction or installation teams to transition projects into post-install maintenance.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Understanding of monthly financial reporting, including labor tracking, budgets, and job cost management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with customers, field employees, and internal management teams.
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and other scheduling or construction management software.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- OSHA 30 Certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
- ISA Certified Arborist – Preferred not required
- QAL/QAC License or equivalent pesticide certification – Preferred not required
- Irrigation Association Certification or equivalent experience.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Experience working with homebuilders and commercial developers.
- Experience managing post-install maintenance programs.
- Knowledge of Nevada desert landscaping and regional plant material.
- Experience using Aspire or other landscape management software.
