Job Description:
We Are Seeking an experienced Senior Oracle SQL Analyst to design, develop, and maintain advanced Oracle SQL and PL/SQL solutions supporting operational reporting, data analysis, and business decision-making. This role is responsible for analyzing business requirements, developing complex SQL queries against normalized transactional databases, automating data processes, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of enterprise data. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, relational database design, query optimization, and operational reporting, with the ability to independently translate complex business needs into efficient and scalable database solutions.
Responsibilities:
· Develop, maintain, and optimize complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programs supporting enterprise applications and reporting.
· Write complex SQL queries from scratch against large, normalized Oracle transactional databases.
· Analyze business requirements and determine appropriate database tables, relationships, joins, and business rules to support reporting and analysis.
· Extract, validate, transform, and analyze operational data for reporting, research, executive requests, and business initiatives.
· Develop and maintain automated SQL processes, scheduled database jobs, and recurring data refresh procedures.
· Troubleshoot SQL scripts, database jobs, performance issues, and data quality concerns.
· Optimize SQL queries and database processes to improve performance, efficiency, and reliability.
· Develop reusable, well-documented SQL code that follows established development standards and best practices.
· Support operational reporting, key performance indicators (KPIs), recurring business reports, and research initiatives.
· Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and communicate analytical findings.
· Validate data accuracy and ensure consistency across reporting and operational processes.
· Support data visualization initiatives by providing optimized datasets for reporting tools such as Tableau.
· Maintain technical documentation for SQL programs, database processes, and reporting solutions.
· Participate in ongoing process improvements to enhance reporting automation, data quality, and operational efficiency.
Required Skills:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
· 5+ years of experience developing Oracle SQL solutions against normalized transactional databases.
· 5+ years of experience writing complex SQL queries, including joins, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), subqueries, CASE statements, aggregate functions, and analytic functions.
· Strong understanding of normalized relational database design, data modeling, and table relationships.
· 3+ years of experience translating business requirements into SQL-based solutions.
· 3+ years of experience developing operational reports and performing data analysis.
· 3+ years of experience developing and maintaining automated SQL jobs, scheduled database processes, and recurring data refreshes.
· Ability to independently analyze business requirements and develop SQL solutions without relying on pre-built analytical models or visual query tools.
· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
· 3+ years of experience developing Oracle PL/SQL procedures, functions, packages, and views.
· 5+ years of experience with SQL query optimization, troubleshooting, and data validation.
· Experience with Tableau or other enterprise data visualization platforms.
· Experience supporting large-scale transactional database environments.
· Experience working with operational reporting, executive reporting, and key performance indicator (KPI) development.
· Experience supporting criminal justice, public sector, or other high-volume enterprise transactional systems.
· Knowledge of database performance tuning, indexing strategies, and SQL optimization best practices.
