Express Employment Professionals – North seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our property management team. This position is responsible for maintaining apartment homes and common areas, completing work orders, preparing units for new residents, and ensuring the community remains clean, safe, and well-maintained.The ideal candidate will have experience with apartment maintenance, drywall repair, painting, and general maintenance tasks, along with a strong commitment to customer service and resident satisfaction.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare vacant units for new residents, including repairs, painting, and cleaning.
- Patch, repair, and texture drywall as needed.
- Perform interior and exterior painting, touch-ups, and unit refreshes.
- Handle basic plumbing repairs, including faucets, sinks, toilets, and minor leaks.
- Complete basic electrical repairs such as replacing fixtures, switches, and outlets.
- Assist with preventative maintenance programs and inspections.
- Maintain common areas, grounds, and building appearance.
- Identify and report safety hazards or major repair needs.
- Ensure all work is completed according to safety standards and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents.
Qualifications
- Basic Previous maintenance, handyman, apartment maintenance, or facilities experience preferred.
- Experience with drywall repair, patching, texture matching, and painting required.
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair techniques.
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
