Software Engineer IV

\n

Location: Hybrid, onsite in Valencia, CA minimum 3 days/week

Duration: 12 Month Contract

Position Overview

\n

Our medical device client is seeking an experienced Software Engineer IV to support the development of embedded software for Class III medical devices. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on firmware development, software verification, and cross-functional collaboration throughout the product development lifecycle.

\n

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded C/C++ development, experience working within a regulated industry, and the ability to contribute technical leadership while partnering with systems, hardware, and cross-functional engineering teams.

Primary Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware using C/C++ and Python.
  • \n

  • Develop unit tests, integration tests, and firmware verification tests.
  • \n

  • Analyze software and system requirements to ensure complete and verifiable implementation.
  • \n

  • Participate in software architecture, design reviews, and technical problem solving.
  • \n

  • Document software development activities, change requests, and technical reports in accordance with established quality procedures.
  • \n

  • Maintain development activities within the organization's software lifecycle management tools.
  • \n

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and support product development.
  • \n

  • Ensure all work complies with applicable quality system requirements for regulated medical device development.
  • \n

Required Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • Bachelor's degree minimum required with 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • \n

  • Strong embedded software development experience using C/C++.
  • \n

  • Experience developing software within a regulated industry such as medical devices, aerospace, automotive, or similar.
  • \n

  • Demonstrated technical leadership and strong communication skills.
  • \n
