Job Description

Job DescriptionEngineering Program Lead, Capital Projects

Location: Burbank, CA 90210

A day in the role

It’s 8:45 a.m. in Burbank. You’ve just skimmed the latest status dashboards and you’re walking into a cross-functional sync. Product has a new requirement; Operations has a timeline risk; your engineering team has three design alternatives ready. You facilitate the conversation, align objectives, and set a path forward that protects the schedule and budget—without sacrificing engineering rigor.

By mid-morning, you’re reviewing drawings and specifications, making the final call on a design approach that meets standards and clears a key dependency. After lunch, you lead a risk review, shaping mitigation plans that keep milestones intact. Before the day closes, you brief stakeholders with a crisp summary of progress, decisions, and next steps—and spark fresh thinking by introducing a tool that could accelerate verification on the next project.

What you'll drive

  • Leadership of a high-performing engineering team—coaching, mentoring, and elevating collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • End-to-end ownership of project planning, execution, and delivery from concept to completion, with strict adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Cross-functional coordination to align goals, remove blockers, and keep scope on track.
  • Formal review and approval of designs, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Proactive risk identification with clear mitigation strategies to ensure predictable outcomes.
  • Rhythms of execution: regular status meetings, stakeholder updates, and decision logs.
  • Compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations across all phases.
  • Applied innovation—evaluating new technologies and methods that improve performance and results.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline; Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years in project engineering, including 2+ years leading or supervising engineers.
  • Deep grasp of project management frameworks and best practices.
  • Proven team leadership and people-development skills.
  • Fluency with engineering software and project management tools.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced setting; comfortable steering multiple concurrent projects.
  • Sharp problem-solving ability and meticulous attention to detail.

Impact

In this role, you’ll translate complex engineering efforts into reliable delivery, shaping outcomes that matter to customers and the business.
