Job DescriptionUnited Talent Staffing is immediately hiring multiple Property Maintenance Professionals for long-term opportunities with a well-established organization in Charleston, WV.
Available Positions
- Maintenance Specialist: $18.03 per hour
- Maintenance Lead: $17.25 per hour
- Maintenance Technician: $16.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Location: Charleston, WVPay and position placement will be based on skills, experience, and qualifications.What You’ll DoNo two days will be exactly the same. Depending on your experience and assigned position, responsibilities may include:
- Completing work orders and responding to resident maintenance requests
- Performing preventative maintenance and general property repairs
- Troubleshooting and completing basic electrical repairs involving outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, and wiring
- Repairing plumbing fixtures, drains, water lines, leaks, and clogs
- Assisting with HVAC maintenance and repairs, including filter changes
- Completing carpentry projects involving doors, windows, cabinets, flooring, framing, trim, and drywall
- Preparing and painting apartments, including full unit turns and touch-ups
- Repairing and servicing appliances and mechanical equipment
- Completing interior and exterior repairs involving roofing, concrete, masonry, fencing, gutters, and structural components
- Maintaining grounds, parking areas, common areas, and exterior property features
- Inspecting properties to identify maintenance and safety needs
- Safely operating hand tools, power tools, grounds equipment, and maintenance vehicles
- Maintaining accurate work orders, maintenance records, and inventory
- Keeping work areas, tools, and materials clean and organized
- Coordinating with contractors and monitoring project completion
- Assisting with welding, cutting, or metal fabrication projects when needed
- Following safety procedures, housing standards, HUD regulations, and company policies
- Providing leadership and helping coordinate maintenance activities when assigned
- Participating in a rotating after-hours emergency maintenance schedule for certain positions
QualificationsQualifications vary by position, but ideal candidates will have:
- Previous experience in property maintenance, construction, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, landscaping, painting, or another skilled trade
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- A dependable work ethic and willingness to assist wherever needed
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to prioritize multiple work orders and responsibilities
- Experience safely using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work involving bending, kneeling, climbing, and prolonged standing
- Reliable transportation
Candidates considered for the Maintenance Technician position must have:
- A high school diploma or GED
- At least five years of related building maintenance, construction, or skilled-trade experience
- A valid West Virginia driver’s license and good driving record
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
