Under the supervision of the Airport Director performs a variety of unskilled to skilled physical tasks in maintaining airport equipment and airport facilities. Essential functions of job include but are not limited to the safe operation of tools and equipment, bush hogs, tractors, mowers, and weed eaters.
Examples of Duties
This list represents the essential tasks performed by the position. Employees may be assigned additional duties by management as required.
Assures that the appropriate tools and equipment are available for each job assignment.
Conducts maintenance and repair activities.
Maintains the equipment, tools in good condition, and maintenance records.
Inspects all vehicles, power tools, and specialized equipment daily or prior to use.
Utilize bush hog, weed eater, tractor, and mower to perform essential functions of job.
Inspects and maintains the airport runways/taxiways field and terminal buildings, fences and roads.
Maintains airport grounds and surrounding roads as required,Typical Qualifications
Ability to operate bush hog, tractor, mower, and weed eater. Prepare and follow written instructions: judgment and initiative are required in making decisions in accordance with established guidelines: ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, perform a wide variety of skilled and semi-skilled building maintenance and repair work. Knowledge of standard tools to include bush hog, tractor, mower, and weed eater; methods and practices involved in airport building maintenance and repair, including safe work practices, estimating materials and labor needs,
Acceptable Training and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent and three years’ experience performing duties of like nature. Certificates and Licenses Required:
