You will report directly to our Project Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our Phoenix Engines location on a Hybrid work schedule. Note: For the first 90 days, New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite M-F.
As a Sr. Advanced Project Engineer, Gas Turbine Engines at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in a high-priority B-52 Stratofortress development program focused on designing, testing, and fielding a new auxiliary power unit (APU). This senior-level role involves planning and implementing design as well as design verification including analysis, APU qualification and flight testing.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with program objectives while contributing to the development of cutting-edge aerospace solutions that enhance aircraft performance, safety, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead, plan and coordinate advanced engineering activities related to gas turbine engine development.
• Support the creation, review, and maintenance of qualification and test documentation.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure program milestones are met.
• Participate in verification and testing phases, including flight testing of gas turbine engines, to validate performance and compliance.
• Drive innovation in engineering solutions to improve product performance and meet program requirements.
• Facilitate communication and coordination across multiple teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
• Strong background in gas turbine engine development.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in engineering or related roles.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project coordination skills.
• Familiarity with aerospace engineering principles, project management, and product lifecycle management.
WE VALUE
• Advanced Engineering degrees such as ME (Mechanical Engineering) or EE (Electrical Engineering).
• Experience in risk management.
• Knowledge of earned value management systems (EVMS).
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and quality assurance processes in aerospace.
