Job Title: Quality Assurance Supervisor

Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 k/yr

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Quality Supervisor to oversee daily food safety and quality assurance operations in a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Quality Director, you will lead a team of Quality Assurance technicians while collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, Distribution, and Sanitation teams to ensure regulatory compliance, maintain audit readiness, and drive continuous improvement. You will play a vital role in strengthening the food safety culture and ensuring that products consistently meet both company and regulatory standards.

**Responsibilities:**

- Lead and prioritize daily Quality Assurance operations supporting production, including inspections, testing, and audits.

- Supervise, coach, and develop team members to ensure consistent application of food safety and quality standards.

- Monitor and verify Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) in line with established food safety plans.

- Conduct Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), sanitation, and food safety audits in production and warehouse areas to ensure audit readiness.

- Collaborate with Operations to proactively address quality, food safety, and process concerns.

- Verify the functionality of process controls and operational systems; escalate issues as necessary.

- Make product disposition decisions, including hold, release, and rework, in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

- Investigate nonconforming raw materials and finished goods.

- Lead or support customer complaint investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and defect reduction efforts.

- Ensure compliance with Food and Drug Administration (FDA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations, and internal audit standards.

- Work cross-functionally to advance the food safety culture and employee engagement.

- Support document change workflows.

- Perform additional duties as assigned.

**Qualifications:**

- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.

- 3+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.

- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.

- PCQI certification is a plus.

- Strong knowledge of food safety systems, sanitation programs, and GMP.

- Experience with internal and external audits, including regulatory and customer audits.

- Familiarity with FDA and USDA regulations.

- SQF Practitioner certification is a plus.

- BPCS (Better Process Control School) certification is beneficial.

**Physical Requirements:**

The employee is frequently required to communicate verbally and audibly, use hands to handle objects or operate controls, and may need to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The role may involve climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and exerting a moderate amount of force to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds. Good vision and hearing (with or without correction) are necessary, including the ability to see close and distant, perceive depth, and adjust focus.

**Environmental Conditions:**

This position entails working in a mixed environment, including both an office setting and production/warehouse areas. Conditions may include:

- Varying temperatures from -20&degree;F to 100&degree;F.

- Damp conditions due to sanitation processes.

- Frequent presence of approved food-grade sanitation chemicals.

- Exposure to food allergens such as dairy, eggs, wheat, soy, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, and sesame.

- Equipment with mechanical parts and high temperatures.

- Moderate noise levels.
