Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance relational and non-relational database systems
- Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database schemas for maximum efficiency
- Monitor database health, performance tuning, and capacity planning
- Collaborate with software engineers and architects to support application data needs
- Implement and enforce database security, backup, and disaster recovery strategies
- Lead database migration and upgrade projects across environments
- Develop and maintain data models, documentation, and best practices
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in database engineering, administration, or architecture
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server
- Experience with cloud-based database platforms (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL)
- Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis
- Experience with ETL processes, data warehousing, and data modeling
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering teams
