Location: Shelby Township, MI
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $110,000 - $140,000 annually + Performance Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits

Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance & Facilities Manager to lead all maintenance and facilities operations at its Shelby Township manufacturing facility. This leadership position is responsible for maximizing equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, overseeing facility maintenance, and developing a high-performing maintenance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with a strong background in manufacturing maintenance who enjoys improving processes, developing people, and driving operational excellence.
What You'll Do

  • Lead all maintenance and facilities operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing performance.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs that improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Manage daily maintenance activities, emergency repairs, and long-term equipment reliability initiatives.
  • Oversee machine uptime across the facility through proactive maintenance planning and rapid response to equipment issues.
  • Plan and coordinate major equipment repairs and facility improvement projects.
  • Manage outside contractors and service providers while ensuring quality workmanship and cost control.
  • Develop and maintain critical spare parts inventory to minimize production interruptions.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure maintenance performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor departmental budgets, labor utilization, and overtime.
  • Promote 5S and workplace organization throughout the maintenance department.
  • Allocate maintenance resources to meet production demands and business priorities.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to support manufacturing objectives.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Maintenance & Facilities team.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and retain skilled maintenance professionals.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and create employee development plans.
  • Mentor the Assistant Maintenance Manager while supporting leadership development and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of maintenance leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience managing maintenance teams in a high-volume manufacturing facility.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Experience improving equipment reliability and minimizing production downtime.
  • Demonstrated success leading maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Experience managing contractors, facility projects, and capital repairs.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, or continuous improvement initiatives is preferred.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
