Mennonite Village is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician II to join our Facilities team.
In this important role, you'll help maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors throughout our campus. From troubleshooting building systems and completing repairs to performing preventive maintenance and supporting life-safety systems, your work will directly contribute to the comfort, well-being, and quality of life of the older adults we serve.

What You'll Do
- Inspect, maintain, and repair buildings, equipment, and facility systems
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues and perform plumbing, electrical, carpentry, hardware, and general building repairs within your scope of training
- Complete preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and longevity
- Respond to maintenance requests and service calls in a timely manner
- Prioritize work orders based on safety, urgency, and operational needs
- Maintain accurate work-order documentation and maintenance records
- Repair and maintain furniture, fixtures, and durable medical equipment
- Assist with room setups, tear-downs, facility improvements, and special projects
- Support life-safety systems, including emergency lighting, exit signs, smoke detectors, and fire safety equipment
- Maintain maintenance shops, vehicles, tools, and storage areas in a clean and organized condition
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate material and supply needs
- Assist with emergency response activities, drills, and on-call responsibilities
- Provide courteous and professional service to residents, staff, families, and visitors
- Coordinate with coworkers, contractors, and vendors to support facility operations
Knowledge and Skills Required for the Position
- Minimum three years of experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, or a related skilled trade
- Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and repair building systems and equipment
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, hardware, and preventive maintenance practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, operation manuals, and technical documentation
- Strong problem-solving and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to changing needs
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and excellent customer service
- Ability to use maintenance-related technology and software systems effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Oregon Driver License with an acceptable driving record
- Journeyman-level certification or formal trade training in a related field
- Experience in healthcare, senior living, or multi-facility environments
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

Schedule and Status
- Full-Time
- Non-Exempt, Hourly Position
- Participation in on-call rotation required
- Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required to support emergencies, projects, or community events
Pay Range
$22.00 to $29.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, certifications, and demonstrated skills.
