Job DescriptionDescription:

The Warehouse Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on warehouse equipment, machinery, and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations. This is an intermediate-level position requiring hands-on mechanical/electrical troubleshooting ability and some independent judgment, working under general supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on conveyor systems, dock equipment, forklifts, pallet jacks, and material handling equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues within the facility
  • Respond to and prioritize work orders based on urgency and operational impact
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs using a CMMS (computerized maintenance management system)
  • Inspect dock doors, levelers, lighting, and safety equipment on a regular schedule
  • Perform minor building repairs (drywall, painting, fixtures, flooring)
  • Order and maintain inventory of maintenance parts and supplies
  • Coordinate with outside vendors/contractors for specialized repairs
  • Follow all OSHA safety standards and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • Operate power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment safely

Requirements:

  • 2–4 years of experience in facility, industrial, or warehouse maintenance
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and basic HVAC/plumbing systems
  • Experience with material handling equipment a plus (forklift certification preferred)
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals
  • Basic computer skills for work order and inventory tracking systems
  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school/technical certification a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work at heights

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing ladders
  • Work in varying warehouse temperatures (some non-climate-controlled areas)
  • Use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots) required
