Job DescriptionFacilities & Equipment Reliability Lead Technician

Schedule Options: 4x10 hours or 5 days per week | Type: Direct Hire | Reports to: Facilities Manager

Is this you?

  • You jump on unplanned equipment faults, diagnose fast, and bring lines back up safely.
  • You build, execute, and continuously refine preventive maintenance programs.
  • You enjoy partnering with a maintenance lead to prioritize work, align resources, and prepare for audits.
  • You’re equally comfortable with wrenches, meters, schematics, CMMS screens, and vendor calls.

What you’ll handle

  • Installation, upkeep, and optimization of production machinery and facility equipment.
  • Routine PMs with inspections and tests to verify performance of assigned machines.
  • Emergency/unscheduled repairs across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Reading/using manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics to execute precise repairs.
  • Root‑cause diagnosis, part replacement/repair, functional testing, and final adjustments.
  • General building maintenance: basic plumbing and carpentry tasks.
  • Safe operation of hand/power tools, electric meters, and material‑handling equipment.
  • Immediate reporting of faulty operations or defective material to proper supervision.
  • Electronic recordkeeping for all maintenance and repair activities in the CMMS.
  • Ordering/requisitioning parts; contributing to spares and inventory accuracy; coordinating contractors.
  • Audit support through complete documentation and compliant practices.
  • Assessment of building systems to scope maintenance and repair needs.
  • Collaboration with the maintenance lead to plan priorities and match tasks to skills.
  • Technical assistance to teammates on advanced troubleshooting and assignments.
  • Adherence to health and safety expectations and ISO, IATF, Lean, and housekeeping standards.

Core skills

  • Mechanical systems knowledge and proven electrical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to comprehend mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Understanding of building and utility systems.
  • CMMS and Microsoft Office proficiency to complete logs, reports, and inventory tasks.
  • Preferred: locksmith, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or painting experience.
  • Strong diagnostic judgment to identify issues and define effective repairs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience (required).
  • Associate degree and experience training/leading others (preferred).
