As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Specialist in Suffolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic tech and media location where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to all persons on site by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a technology-focused location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or unusual activity in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and sharing relevant details with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, work areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify concerns related to access, property, and/or operations.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or visitor requirements, and support access control processes in accordance with site policies and post instructions.
- Support day-to-day site operations by reporting maintenance concerns, policy violations, and/or suspicious behavior, while maintaining a professional presence and clear communication with employees, visitors, and contractors.
Minimum Requirements:
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
